About Us
The company was founded by Ron Bacon after many years of service in both the commercial and domestic sectors as a floor layer/fitter and later as a contract manager to a commercial contract flooring company. It is a family business, with a loyal team of tried and tested fitters who seek to maintain the high standards of workmanship achieved by Ron.
Purpose
Over the years we have developed a wealth of experience in both the domestic and commercial carpet and flooring sectors, with the foremost aim of keeping pace with new industry developments. Application of our knowledge and skill has enabled us to exercise responsibility and control over the services we provide. Our purpose is to install floors to the highest standard possible and give service in abundance, always with the view that the customer should never be undersold, thus ensuring that an installation will last.
Policy
We follow closely, installation guidelines as laid down in the British Standard Codes of Practice and manufacturers recommendations that cover our trade and the materials we supply.
We expect areas to be weather tight, tidy and free of other trades. Sub floors should be dry and where applicable, due regard given for the correct ambient temperature to enable us to complete the work satisfactorily. Where this is impractical we have an amicable approach to handling conditions to enable the work to proceed.
Clients
We provide a genuine service to a wide ranging customer base including private households, nursing homes, schools, social clubs, hotels, publicans, landlords, tenant associations, housing trusts, builders, designers, shops, offices and factories.
Carpet
We tend to supply and fit most popular types of 100% wool or wool/blend natural carpets from leading manufacturers, of which we have a wide selection.
There is a wide range of heavy commercial nylon and polypropylene cut and loop pile carpets in plain and graphics design available 'off the shelf' for all types of demanding heavy-wear installations.
Twist piles are forever popular and at present we are able to supply and install a heavy domestic grade 80/20% wool/nylon twist from under £30 sm including underlay, fitting and VAT.
We also specialise in bespoke designed wilton and Axminster for those who wish to create a unique look. Recent contracts have included private clubs, prestigious Church premises and border designs to common parts of large apartment buildings.
We have a good selection of leading brand carpet tiles and stair nosing profiles to suit all budgets in commercial premises.
Wood
Owing to the renewed popularity of wood floors in recent years, we now supply and lay a wide range of solid, real wood engineered and laminate floors, for domestic and commercial locations including Clubs, Restaurants, Shops and Offices.
Vinyl, Linoleum and Rubber
For the domestic and commercial customer we also specialize in the supply and installation of Altro safety flooring, vinyl wood plank and design floors by Amtico, Polyflor and Karndean.
Forbo Marmoleum, Dalsouple rubber and most of the other leading makes of sheet vinyl.
Estimating and Planning
Professional planning is a key to competitive pricing. It is our policy to minimize waste. Therefore we prefer to take on-site measurements and fully assess any preparation involved.
For smaller domestic work with accurate room size measurements and sketches it is sometimes possible to quote over the phone, providing you know what you want!
Normally our estimates are given free of charge and we bring along a selection of samples to chose from. With carpet installations, the cloth is 'cut to plan' in our workshop and brought to you ready for stretching, trimming and fitting on site.
Maintenance
Recently, we introduced a carpet cleaning service and have invested in state of the art cleaning equipment, to provide on-going maintenance to forward our purpose. The system employs the use micro-splitting cleaning technology that avoids the use of harmful alkaline cleaning agents and does not over-wet the carpet, thus ensuring longevity of the installation. We are members of the NCCA and have trained our operatives in carpet cleaning technology.
